This was a student work. The assignment was to compare typefaces sharing
an aesthetic or historical commonality. I chose typefaces that share both.
As is known, Helvetica and Univers were both adapted from the renowned
Akizidenz Grotesk. At initial glance, the aesthetic of the three seem identical.
This was highlighted with the 'C-within-a-C' illustration. However, on closer
examination it is quite easy (and interesting) to see the subtle differences
and "improvements" on Akzidenz.
